Graveyard Keeper 2 Town Restoration
Rebuilding the Town is the spine of GK2 — the demo’s content runs up to the moment the Town appears, and the full game is built around restoring it. Here is what the system wants from you and how to sequence it.

What Town Restoration Is
The Steam page describes it directly: rebuild the Town and its quests. Where GK1 was about your graveyard and church, GK2 puts a settlement on top of that loop — its quests, its services and its Gratitude all run through restoration progress, and the town is also what your undead army exists to defend.
How Far Does the Demo Get You?
- The demo runs roughly 3-4 hours of content and ends at the Town’s first appearance
- Everything you build in the demo — including restoration progress — carries into the full game
- See the demo guide for rewards and the full carryover list
What Restoration Unlocks
- Town services and vendors that widen your supply lines
- Gratitude pages — one of the direct Gratitude sources that raises your weekly Mass payout
- Quest chains that gate later tech and NPCs
- The defence layer: a restored town is what the undead attacks threaten, so fortification and restoration advance together
Restoration Priorities
- Get your church and faith income stable first — restoration consumes resources you cannot afford to improvise
- Build the zombie supply chain before the town demand spikes — see automation
- Restore service buildings before cosmetic ones; vendors pay for the next stage
- Keep burial certificates and Gratitude pages flowing throughout — they are the currency of goodwill
