Graveyard Keeper 2 Fishing Guide
Fishing is the quiet early-game money maker: no Faith, no corpses, no tech tree — just a rod, a spot and a bit of patience. Here is how to get started and what the catch is actually worth.

Getting Your First Rod
- The fishing chain starts once you have a line and a spot — check the river and pond areas near your starting zone
- Bait matters more than rod tier early; the wrong bait on the right water catches nothing
- Fishing is one of the few activities that costs no Faith and no Science, making it ideal while sermons recharge
Bait & What It Catches
- Simple baits catch the common fish that food recipes and Gratitude turnarounds want
- Better baits unlock the rarer catches — the ones quests and the higher-value dishes ask for
- If a spot is producing nothing but junk, change bait before changing location
What to Do With Your Catch
- Cook and sell for coin and Gratitude — see Gratitude sources
- Feed the demand lines that specific NPC quests generate
- Study new fish species once for points, then sell the rest — do not hoard duplicates
Fishing specifics are the least demo-exposed system on the site. This page targets the GK1 fishing queries and gets a full rewrite with GK2 rod/bait tables at launch — flagged here rather than filled with guesses.
