Graveyard Keeper 2 Engine & PC Specs

Graveyard Keeper 2 is a visual rebuild of a 2D game into 3D, which makes the engine question more interesting than usual. Here is what is actually confirmed, what is claimed, and what the PC requirements tell us.

What Engine Does Graveyard Keeper 2 Use?

Lazy Bear Games has not officially announced the engine for Graveyard Keeper 2. The first game was built in Unity. For GK2 the studio has described a rebuilt-from-scratch 3D presentation, and at least one fan wiki claims Unreal Engine 5 — that claim is unverified and not confirmed by the developers. We will not state it as fact until it is official.

Mod Support

No mod tools or official mod support have been announced for GK2. GK1’s modding community worked with community-made frameworks rather than an official SDK. If that carries over for GK2, expect mods to appear after launch through the same ad-hoc ecosystem.

Verified September 18, 2026: the engine remains officially unconfirmed; the requirements table is taken from the Steam store page. This page updates the moment Lazy Bear or tinyBuild confirms the engine.
