Graveyard Keeper 2 Orders & Town Economy
The order board is GK2’s new answer to GK1’s Trade Office: a weekly loop where you craft supply boxes and the Town pays you in Likes, reputation and gratitude. “Orders” and “commerce” both broke out on Trends at launch — here is how the system actually works.
Where Orders Live
- Orders are accepted at the chalk order board inside the Town Warehouse — part of the town you liberate in the restoration campaign
- The board is only usable on Pride day (the purple-sun day on the calendar)
- You can hold 2 active orders at once
- There are ~76 orders in total — two per trader per tier — and upgrading shops adds new ones
The Order Cycle
- Accept an order at the board on Pride day
- Craft the supply box yourself at your stations (or the Factory) — boxes are never bought from traders
- Drop the crate down the ladder into the cargo drop-off hatch before the order’s day — dropping it on Pride day itself is too late
- Payout is delayed a full week: collect it at the board later
Supply Boxes: 22 Types
There are 22 box types (“Supply: Iron”, “Supply: Fabric”, and so on). The first one every player hits is Supply: Iron for Jack — the Workshop Hours quest crate (6 Iron Ingot + 4 Wooden Plank + 8 Nails at the Woodworking Workbench I). Full walkthrough on the iron page.
Rewards: Likes, Reputation & Gratitude
- Likes (the town happiness currency): ~20 for a Tier I regular order, up to 50 for Tier III urgent orders, with a “Happy supplier” bonus of +5–10
- Urgent orders have a one-week deadline with no rollover; regular orders accumulate deliveries across weeks
- Rejected or extra goods can be sold at the warehouse for money
- The first Supply: Iron order pays +10 Jack reputation, 1 Town Gratitude, a trade-tier upgrade and 20 money
- Whether later orders also pay Town Gratitude is contested between guides — we flag it rather than guess
Town Gratitude, Explained
- Gratitude is the golden thumbs-up resource that fuels sermons: each Mass yields min(Temple quality, Gratitude) Faith — see faith
- Unused Gratitude is wiped weekly — bank it into a sermon before the reset
- The cap starts at 10 and rises to 20 after the first town battle / port reopening; the demo could not raise it
- Sources: burial certificates sold to Januarius (~5 Gratitude per 7 certs, 10/week quota), Gratitude sheets (+5 each, also buyable at the tavern), and a buy-and-resell loop with Herm on Wrath day
Commerce & Trading
- Prices are dynamic: the more stock a merchant already holds, the less they pay per extra unit — dumping 50 of one crop is worse than spreading sales
- Rebuilt town buildings open new markets for your goods and unlock new resources to buy
- Surplus order goods can be sold at the Town Warehouse
GK1 Baseline: The Trade Office
GK1 had no order board — its analogue was the Merchant questline: craft crates, place them on pallets, and the Merchant collects weekly on the Day of Gluttony (max 10 crates per week), with Fame via the Trade Office. GK2’s board keeps the weekly rhythm but makes the orders explicit and ties them to town progression.
