Graveyard Keeper Keeper's Key Walkthrough

The Keeper’s Key is the item that opens the gated dungeon area under the church — and the quest chain that produces it crosses nearly every system in the game. This walkthrough follows the GK1 chain, which the GK2 query traffic is searching for; GK2’s version is checked at launch.

What the Keeper's Key Opens

The key opens the sealed gate below the church, leading into the dungeon and cellar areas. Behind it you find the progression that the surface map does not offer — which is why the chain is worth doing before you over-invest in surface expansion.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Unlock the Hardspares technology — the chain starts with the skull-related tech work in the anatomy tree
2. Find the Astrologer under the Lighthouse at Sealight — only on Sloth day. He hands over the Keeper’s Key.
3. Earn Snake’s trust — spend 5 Faith when the dialogue offers it to receive the Instructions for the Key
4. Build and use the Study Table in the Alchemy Lab beneath the church — this step requires both Faith and Science to be flowing
5. Craft the Active Key from the instructions
6. Return to Snake — you gain +10 reputation and the gate below the church opens

Prerequisites Checklist

• Faith income running (see faith guide) — you need 5 Faith in dialogue plus study costs
• Science points for the Study Table work
• The Alchemy Lab unlocked under the church (part of the main questline)
• A Sloth day on the calendar — plan a full in-game week around the Astrologer visit

Common Problems

• Astrologer is not there — it is not a bug; you are on the wrong in-game day. Wait for Sloth day.
• Study Table will not craft — you are missing Faith or Science, both are consumed
• Snake will not talk — trust step comes first; the key only comes up after the 5-Faith dialogue
