Graveyard Keeper 2 Alchemy & Recipes
Alchemy turns crops, body parts and reagents into the items the rest of the game runs on — paint for your church, juice for your zombies, enhancers for your food economy. This page covers how alchemy unlocks in GK2 and which recipes are confirmed.
How Alchemy Unlocks
- The Alchemy Lab sits under the church — reaching it is part of the main questline, and its Study Table is a hard requirement for the Keeper’s Key chain
- The Workbench is where recipes are crafted; the Mill grinds raw crops into powders
- New recipes are learned by studying the right item at the study stations, which costs Faith and Science

Blood must be drawn before the body is buried — a corpse that is already in the ground cannot be tapped. Same rule as GK1, and the reason early players lose good corpses.
The Crafts Players Search For Most
- Black paint / black ink — high-demand crafts for church and decoration work; search interest spiked in the run-up to launch
- Flavor enhancer — pushes the value of cooked food, the backbone of Gratitude income
- Oil — the oil chain feeds cooking and mechanics crafts; we document the GK2 version as soon as the launch build confirms which GK1 oils return
GK1 Baseline: What Carries Over
- Workbench tier I handles basic reagents; later tiers unlock the advanced crafts
- The Study Table is where most recipes are actually learned — the Workbench only executes them
- Zombie Juice cannot be bought from vendors in GK1; it is a pure craft. The three free doses found in a cabinet near Gunter are a one-time head start
GK2 is a different build from GK1 — treat the baseline list as a checklist to re-verify, not as gospel. We update this page with the full GK2 recipe table once the launch build is out on Sep 22.
